I have always loved cooking, I guess you could say it was in my genes. Everyone in my family is a great cook, and it seemed every gathering revolved around what food we were going to make. As I grew older so did my passion for food. I was the crazy girl in college asking for a bread machine and mixer for Christmas.
I was a teacher for several years before my kids were born, but decided to quit upon their arrival. I loved every minute I got to spend with my boys and would not change that for the world. However, being home only deepened my love for food. I had more time to cook and bake and truly enjoyed it. After my youngest started kindergarten I found I really needed something to occupy all of my free time. I debated wether or not to go back to teaching. Not long after school started I had a friend ask me to cater a baby shower and it snowballed from there. I began catering totally by accident and have not stopped since. I found something I loved to do and getting paid for it was just an added bonus.
I started the blog originally because I had clients asking where they could view my menu. On the same day that I was creating my blog I had two friends call to ask for a recipe. I decided what a great way to also share all of the wonderful recipes I have collected over the years.
It's amazing the twist and turns life can bring us. This was not what I had planned for my life, but it's what I was meant to do. Life's funny like that!
